Keiser University’s Associate of Science degree in Fire Science is offered completely online. The program provides instruction in fire prevention methods, fire detection systems, fire codes and standards, NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) Standards for Fire Officer I and II, NFPA Standards for Fire Instructor I and II, plans examination for emergency services, and building construction. This program assists in qualifying firefighters for management positions with the fire service.
The Associate of Science program will provide graduates with the following:
- Understanding of crisis management, fire suppression and extinguishment methods
- Preparedness to conduct a proper fire scene investigation
- Necessary skills required for employment with the Fire Service including management positions
- Ability to perform community service for protection of life and property
All courses approved by the Florida State Fire College for Certification.
Admissions for the Online Fire Science program are through the Sarasota campus.
Applicants must be certified firefighters.
